Rosario, a 'long-time prospect', to Washington for $2 million a year

Ahmed Rosario (29), a former prospect, has found a new team.

Local media such as "MLB.com " reported on the 9th (Korea Standard Time) that Rosario agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract with the Washington Nationals.

The Nationals also made the announcement official. They waived right-hander Jose Adon after nominating him to make his place on the 40-man roster.

Rosario played in 942 games in eight seasons in the major leagues, batting .273 on-base percentage .308 slugging percentage .398.메이저놀이터

In the 2024 season, he played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cincinnati Reds, hitting .280 on-base percentage of .306 in 103 games, hitting .380 with three home runs, 32 RBIs and 13 steals.

He was once a successful prospect. He ranked fifth in the pre-season prospect rankings by MLB.com in 2017 and played in the Futures Games for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017.

When the New York Mets acquired Francisco Lindor in January 2021, they used it as a trade card. However, it has not grown as much as expected since then.

MLB.com expected Rosario to play Washington's main third baseman or play the role of a super utility that Ildemaro Vargas played.

Washington is recruiting veterans to prepare for the 2025 season. It has hired Nathaniel Lowe and Josh Bell, as well as pitchers Michael Soroka and Trevor Williams.
